Enslin Dlambulo
Enslin Dlambulo was born in Cape Town South Africa and was a student at Langa high school
He played for the western province Bantu rugby team and went on to represent the SA Africans in 3 matches against the SA Coloureds before pursuing a professional rugby league career in England
Dlambulo had played many times with Goolam Abed and on Abed’s arrival at Bradford Northern rugby league ,he was asked to recommend another South African player
The player was Enslin Dlambulo and it was in 1962 that his rugby league career began
Rudi Hasse , a fellow South African was also signed by the club
At Bradford Northern , he was recognised as one of the most disciplined and fittest players of his era playing in the centres and second row
He was hungry for success, with his strength ,agility and athleticism setting him apart from fellow players
He scored the last try for Bradford Northern before the clubs demise in 1963 after which he signed with Keighley rugby league
After his stint at Keighley he retired in 1968 and continued living in England
Dlambulo was one of South Africas greatest sporting heroes in the days of apartheid and was finally awarded his springbok colours in 2004
